EIN 04-2747896 · Natural Resources Conservation & Protection (C30)

What they do

Fosters Pond Weed Control Program: Control of Invasive Weeds and Toxic Blue-green Algae In 120-acre Fosters Pond, A Great Pond Owned By The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Visited By An Estimated 5,000 People Annually. Following Our 2024 Treatment of 42 Acres to Control Suffocating Mats of Fanwort, A Persistent Invasive Weed Which Once Dominated Fosters Pond, 2025 Saw Virtually No Remaining Infestations. However, An Unusually Warm Season Which Led to The Closure of Numerous Lakes Throughout Massachusetts Required Us to Undertake Unprecedented Rounds of Sampling and Lab Testing to Detect Blue-green Algae and Conduct Timely Treatments, Keeping Fosters Pond Open to The Public Throughout The Summer. The FPC Continued Our Regimen of Comprehensive Vegetation Surveys to Monitor The Presence of Invasive Weeds and Ensure A Timely Response to Keep The Pond Biologically Diverse.

Ask these three easy questions

  1. Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
  2. What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
  3. Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.

Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.

A plain-language look at the latest Form 990 figures available. These numbers help you ask better questions; they do not, by themselves, rate whether a charity is good or bad.

How each $100 of revenue was used

The large number compares each expense with revenue. The smaller number shows its share of total expenses.

Has the pattern changed?

Colored bars = expense mix: how each year’s expenses were divided. Total expenses vs. revenue shows whether the charity spent less or more than it received. The current filing is first.
