What they do
From April 1, 2024, Through March 31, 2025, MHCA Presented Thirty-nine Studio-release Films In A Combination of Matinee and Evening Shows That Totaled 368 Screenings for The Year. These Films Included First-run Mainstream Selections, As Well As Indie and Art Films of Limited Release, Such As Documentaries, Biographies, and Those Based On Books, History and Art. The Film Industry is Still Recovering From The COVID Pandemic and The SAG Strike. The Number of Wide Releases Are About Equal to Last Year, But The Number That Are Appropriate for Our Demographic Audience Are Few. The Number of Indie Films Were More Plentiful, and MHCA Was Able to Present More of The 501(c)(3) Films That Distinguish This Theatre From A For-profit One, Namely The Documentaries, and Biographies, Films Based On Books, History and Art. But, MHCA is Experiencing Similar Results As Other Theatres, A Decrease In Patron Attendance. Audiences Are More Widely Opting Streaming As The Means to View A Film. As Well, Streamin

Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Worth asking: Expenses exceeded revenue this year. Ask whether that was planned or caused by a one-time event.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
