What they do
THE I HAVE A DREAM FOUNDATION STRIVES to REMOVE THE BARRIERS THAT PREVENT STUDENTS IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES FROM HAVING THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES for SUCCESS AS THEIR PEERS IN MIDDLE and HIGH-INCOME FAMILIES. THE FOUNDATION OFFERS ACADEMIC SUPPORT, MENTORING, HEALTH and WELLNESS PROGRAMMING, ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, and COLLEGE PREPARATION for STUDENTS FROM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL. UPON GRADUATION, EACH STUDENT RECEIVES TUITION ASSISTANCE to HELP PAY for COLLEGE or VOCATIONAL SCHOOL. BY HELPING STUDENTS GAIN ACCESS to COLLEGE, I HAVE A DREAM FOUNDATION-NEW YORK PUTS THEM ON A DIFFERENT ACADEMIC and LIFE TRAJECTORY, ENABLING THEM to BREAK THE CYCLE of POVERTY and IMPROVE THEIR CHANCES for A BRIGHTER FUTURE.

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
