Odaiko Sonora Provides Cultural Arts Programming In The Form of Taiko, or Japanese Ensemble Drumming, to Approximately 200,000 People A Year Through School Programs, Classes, Workshops, Performances, and More. Classes Include Students From Ages 5 to 80 and Focus On Instilling A Sense of Community In Addition to Personal Accomplishment Many of These Students Then Go On to Form The Community Group, Which is The Core of The Organization. Community Group Members, Along With The Performing Ensemble Members and Understudies, Appear At A Variety of Cultural Festivals In Southern Arizona, Including Tucson Meet Yourself, Arizona Matsuri, and The All Souls Procession Performing Ensemble Members and Understudies Also Partner With Other Local Organizations Like The Tucson Childrens Museum to Provide Additional Programming. School Programs and Residencies Occur Both In Tucson Through TUSDs Opening Minds Through The Arts and In Rural Communities In Cochise County. Odaiko Sonora Also Provides Support
