GPA FOOTBALL CLINIC HSQ HELD THE GRIDIRON PERFORMANCE ACADEMY (GPA) COMBINE and SHOWCASE ON JUNE 8, 2024 AT ST LOUIS HIGH SCHOOL. THE GOAL of THE GPA SHOWCASE is to OFFER YOUTH A PATHWAY to HIGHER EDUCATION BY CONNECTING and SHOWCASING THEIR TALENT to APPROXIMATELY 25-30 COLLEGE COACHES. NUMEROUS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS and FINANCIAL AID PACKAGES ARE AWARDED EACH YEAR. IN 2023, 265 YOUTH ATTENDED, 141 of THOSE STUDENT ATHLETES SELF-REPORTED AS HAWAIIAN or PART-HAWAIIAN. MORE THAN 50% WERE LOW to MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES and PARTICIPATED AT A DISCOUNTED RATE or AT NO COST. THIS is THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY for MANY OUTER ISLAND and LOW INCOME YOUTH to CONNECT WITH COLLEGES, GET FILM, and CONNECT WITH COLLEGE COACHES FROM DIV AA, DIV 2, NAIA, JUCO and to BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE COACHES. THIS HAS LED to MANY COLEGE OPPORTUNITIES.
