What they do
POVERTY SOLUTIONS is A DAY-LONG TRAINING DESIGNED to EXAMINE THE NATURE of THE SCARCITY MINDSET and ITS INFLUENCE ON INDIVIDUAL BEHAVIOR, DECISIONS and RELATIONSHIPS. PARTICIPANTS EXPLORE THEIR OWN LEVEL of SECURITY and UNCONSCIOUS BIASES, CREATING AN UNDERSTANDING of THEIR OWN BEHAVIOR WHILE GAINING AN UNDERSTANDING of WHY OTHERS BEHAVE DIFFERENTLY, and HOW THE TYRANNY of THE MOMENT CAN CAUSE PEOPLE to MAKE POOR CHOICES and GET CAUGHT IN THE SCARCITY TRAP. THIS SELF-AWARENESS and UNDERSTANDING of WHY PEOPLE DO WHAT THEY DO BECOMES THE FOUNDATION for ESTABLISHING RELATIONSHIPS of MUTUAL RESPECT. A COMPANION PROGRAM of POVERTY SOLUTIONS is GETTING AHEAD IN A JUST GETTING-BY WORLD (GETTING AHEAD). GETTING AHEAD USES TRAINED FACILITATORS to WORK WITH SMALL GROUPS of UNDER-RESOURCED INDIVIDUALS, CALLED INVESTIGATORS, WHO INVESTIGATE THEIR OWN LIFE SITUATIONS, EXAMINE and BUILD THEIR OWN RESOURCES, RESEARCH COMMUNITY CONDITIONS and BECOME ACCOUNTABLE for THEIR OWN LEARNING and BEHAVIOR. Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
