What they do
BARRIO FIESTA: THE BARRIO FIESTA IS THE THREE-DAY OUTDOOR MAIN EVENT OF PHILIPPINE WEEKEND. IT IS HELD EVERY YEAR ON THE VERY LAST WEEKEND OF JULY AT CECIL AVENUE PARK IN DELANO, CA. THE BARRIO FIESTA IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND THERE IS NO ADMISSION FEE. AT THE BARRIO FIESTA THE PUBLIC CAN ENJOY FILIPINO CULTURAL DANCES, FILIPINO CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL PRESENTATIONS, AND VARIOUS PERFORMANCES FROM LOCAL BANDS AND ARTISTS. THE LOCAL YOUTH IS HEAVILY INVOLVED AS MANY OF THEM PRESENT THE FILIPINO CULTURAL DANCES. MANY OF THEM VOLUNTEER TO BE A PART OF THE PHILIPPINE WEEKEND COMMITTEE AS WELL, WHICH ALSO ALLOWS THEM TO DEVELOP LEADERSHIP SKILLS. THE BARRIO FIESTA ALSO HOSTS A DANCE CONTEST, A SINGING CONTEST, AND AN ADOBO COOK-OFF. THE PHILIPPINE WEEKEND BARRIO FIESTA GIVES THE COMMUNITY AN OPPORTUNITY TO COME TOGETHER AND CELEBRATE FILIPINO CULTURE.

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
