What they do

BIG GAME BATTLE "BGB" is ORGANIZED and OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY for CHARITABLE PURPOSES. THE ACTIVITIES of BGB ARE DESIGNED to RAISE FUNDS to ASSIST and ENHANCE THE QUALITY of LIFE for UNDERPRIVILEDGED CHILDREN and FAMILIES IN and AROUND THE COMMUNITY. BGB HAS ONE MAJOR FUNDRAISING EVENT ANNUALLY. THE FOUNDATION OPERATES A THREE DAY SPORT FISHING TOURNAMENT IN AUGUST HELD ON THE ISLAND of NANTUCKET, MASSACHUSETTS. THE TOURNAMENT ATTRACTS SPONSORS and DONORS WHO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS, SERVICES and GOODS. IN ADDITION to ENTRY FEES COLLECTED BY BGB, THE ORGANIZATION COLLECTS DONATIONS FROM THE SILENT AUCTION and RAFFLE. ALSO, DONATIONS MADE OUT DIRECTLY to THE PARTICULAR CHARITY ARE COLLECTED AT THE TIME of THE EVENT. BGB THEN MAKES THE DONATION to THE SELECTED CHARITY.

Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Ask these three easy questions

  1. Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
  2. What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
  3. Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.

Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
