What they do

MUSEUM: In 2017, RIMOSA Opened Exhibit Space In Providence. We Continued Our Traveling Programming Throughout The State, But Our Physical Hub At 763 Westminster Street Allowed People to Experience Our Exhibits and Activities As Individuals, In Multi-generational Family Groups, or Through School or Camp Field Trips, On A Walk-in Basis and On Their Schedule. Because RIMOSA Experiences Were Physically Interactive and Tactile and Because - As They Were Open-ended - They Had No Set Way to Interact With Them, They Were Very Effective In Reaching A Wide Range of Ages and Types of Learning Styles. Although The Pandemic Continued to Decrease Out In-person Opportunities, We Expanded Upon Our Kits of New, Physical Materials Which Were Delivered to The Homes of Rhode Island School Children and Allowed Them to Participate In Our Online Programs While Still Maintaining Our Commitment to Hands-on Learning. Just In The Year 2021, We Sent Kits to Over 279 Individuals and Engaged Them In Over 136 Hours

This record may have an IRS status problem. Do not give until you verify it.

Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Money made simple

91.23%of revenue went to mission work86.3% of expenses · Program services
$90.10spent for every $100 of revenueRevenue covered expenses this year.
$0.00in assets for every $1 spent this yearSome assets cannot be spent right away.
18.1%of its money came from giftsOther money may come from services or investments.

Ask these three easy questions

  1. Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
  2. What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
  3. Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.

Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.

A plain-language look at the latest Form 990 figures available. These numbers help you ask better questions; they do not, by themselves, rate whether a charity is good or bad.

How each $100 of revenue was used

The large number compares each expense with revenue. The smaller number shows its share of total expenses.

Expenses were greater than revenue, so the colored ring fills the available $100 and the total above 100% is shown below.

Has the pattern changed?

Colored bars = expense mix: how each year’s expenses were divided. Total expenses vs. revenue shows whether the charity spent less or more than it received. The current filing is first.
