What they do
A BIG HEART FOUNDATION WAS FOUNDED IN 2010 AS A WAY TO GIVE BACK TO THE CHARLOTTE COMMUNITY. WITH FUNDS RAISED THROUGH OUR ANNUAL TOYS FOR TOTS GOLF TOURNAMENT, WE HAVE DONATED OVER A QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS TO VARIOUS CHARITIABLE CAUSES. THE TOYS FOR TOTS TOURNAMENT IS PLAYED AT THE PALISADES COUNTRY CLUB. THE TOURNAMENT IS THE SECOND LARGEST CONTRIBUTOR TO THE MARINE CORP TOYS FOR TOTS PROGRAM IN THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA. SPONSORS SUPPORTING THE EVENT INCLUDE A VARIETY OF BUSINESS LEADERS AND DECISION-MAKERS AMONG PROMINENT COMPANIES IN THE CHARLOTTE AREA. 2019S TOURNAMENT COLLECTED TOYS FOR HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN IN THE CHARLOTTE AREA DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON. THE ORGANIZATION PURCHASED ALL OF THE TOYS AT A LOCAL SHOPPING CENTER IN CHARLOTTE, WHICH GRANTED A SIGNFICANT DISCOUNT SO THAT THE VALUE OF CONTRIBUTIONS COULD BE EXTENDED. (AMOUNT REPORTED ON PART III IS COST OF TOYS.) ALL OF THE TOYS WERE DISTRIBUTED BY THE MARINE CORPS TOYS FOR TOTS FOUNDATION TO NEEDY CHILDREN IN T

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
