SINCE ITS INCEPTION, THE RI REDS HERITAGE SOCIETY HAS ACHIEVED THE FOLLOWING:- BUILT AN ASTOUNDING MEMBERSHIP of OVER 650 PERSONS, INCLUDING MORE THAN 100 FORMER RI REDS PLAYERS and TEAM OFFICIALS- ACQUIRED VALUABLE REDS ARTIFACTS, INCLUDING VINTAGE FILM, PHOTOGRAPHS, PROGRAMS, ETC. for EVENTUAL MUSEUM DISPLAY- COLLECTED APPROXIMATELY $50,060 IN PLEDGES and GIFTS TOWARDS BUILDING AMUSEUM EXHIBIT- PROVIDED FINANCIAL GIFTS to YOUTH HOCKEY ORGANIZATIONS to PAY ICE-TIME TUITION for UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH WHO WOULD NOT OTHERWISE BE ABLE to PLAY THE GREAT GAME of ICE HOCKEY- IN 2011 THE RI REDS HERITAGE SOCIETY and THE RI INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE ESTABLISHED THE "UNSUNG HERO" AWARD to RECOGNIZE HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY PLAYERS, IN BOTH BOYS and GIRLS DIVISIONS, WHO CONSISTENTLY CONTRIBUTE to THEIR TEAMS SUCCESS.
