FRIENDS OF THE ROGERS PARK LIBRARY
EIN 36-3730814 · Human Service Organizations (P20)
What they do
Exempt Purpose Achievements: The Rogers Park Library Opened In 1958 With 65,000 Books, Which Was Reduced to 37,000 By 1987. The Friends of The Rogers Park Library Started Project 20,000 to Restore The Book Collection. We Did This With Donated Books From Our Neighbors Who Have Used The Library. Some of Their Donated Books Were Put Into The Circulating Book Collection, and The Rest Were Sold At Book Sales. Money Raised In Book Sales and Other Fundraisers, Such As Theater Events, Has Been Used to Supplement The Book Budget to Maintain The Number of Books In Circulation and to Fund Programs Such As Musical or Theatrical Performances. The Friends of Rogers Park Library Started The Librarys Homework Center, Where We Recruited Volunteers to Help Students With Their Homework for Our Project: Lowering The Barriers to Learning. We Also Fund Musical, Theatrical, and Storyteller Performances. We Also Provide Funds to Supplement The Supplies and Equipment Used By Our Library Staff.

Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
Financial picture
A plain-language look at the latest Form 990 figures available. These numbers help you ask better questions; they do not, by themselves, rate whether a charity is good or bad.
How each $100 of revenue was used
The large number compares each expense with revenue. The smaller number shows its share of total expenses.
Gray means reported revenue left after expenses for this filing year. It does not necessarily mean cash sitting in a bank account.
Pause before giving. This filing reports that 0.0% of spending went to fundraising and 21.4% went to mission work. Ask the charity to explain these numbers and show recent results.
