EACH YEAR, CCBA PUTS ON A THREE-DAY FALL CONFERENCE WHERE ATTORNEYS THAT ARE MEMBERS of STATE-WIDE REGIONAL and SPECIALTY BAR ASSOCIATIONS (DELEGATIONS) PROPOSE LEGISLATION (RESOLUTIONS) THAT THE DELEGATIONS WANT to SEE ENACTED INTO LAW BY THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE. THE RESOLUTIONS ARE ON A WIDE VARIETY of TOPICS INCLUDING CIVIL LAW, CRIMINAL LAW, FAMILY LAW, PROBATE, TRUSTS and ESTATES, CORPORATIONS, PROPERTY LAW, to NAME BUT A FEW. THE ORGANIZATIONS ALL VOLUNTEER LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE and DELEGATES THEN FACILITATE THE PLACEMENT of RESOLUTIONS PASSED BY THE CONFERENCE WITH STATE LEGISLATORS. WHEN and IF ORGANIZATIONAL FINANCES PERMIT, CCBA MAY CONTRACT WITH A LAW FIRM/LOBBYIST to FACILITATE LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITIES. AT THE CONFERENCE EACH YEAR, CCBA ALSO GIVES OUT AWARDS to INDIVIDUAL ATTORNEYS and OTHERS IN THE LEGAL and LEGISLATIVE COMMUNITY THAT HAVE SHOWN COMMITMENT and DEDICATION to CCBA.
