THE MISSION of ARTS-US is to DEVELOP YOUNG LEADERS THROUGH THE ARTS. to ENGAGE YOUTH and COMMUNITY IN ARTS-FOCUSED PROGRAMS to HELP THEM ENGENDER PRIDE, REALIZE CREATIVE POTENTIAL, and PRESERVE A LEGACY of EXCELLENCE IN AFRICAN CULTURAL HERITAGE BY: 1. PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY CULTURAL ARTS PROGRAMS, PARTICULARLY of THE AFRICAN DIASPORA, to HELP YOUTH LEAD: - LEARN ABOUT PEOPLE, CULTURE and HISTORY BY EXPLORING and CREATING IN A VARIETY of ARTISTIC DISCIPLINES; - ENGAGE IN HEALTHY, SAFE and PRODUCTIVE ONGOING RELATIONSHIPS WITH ADULTS and OTHER YOUTH; - APPLY NEW KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS IN THE ARTS to CHALLENGES IN SCHOOL, HOME and COMMUNITY; - DEVELOP STRENGTHENED SKILLS for SELF-EXPRESSION, COMMUNICATIONS and COPING. 2. WORKING WITH ARTISTS and EDUCATORS to INCREASE STUDENT of COLOR PARTICIPATION and ACHIEVEMENT BY INFUSING THE ARTS and CULTURE of THE AFRICAN DIASPORA INTO CLASSROOM CURRICULA. 3.
