NEITHER DIGHTON-REHOBOTH REGIONAL, NOR SEEKONK HIGHSCHOOL, PROVIDES MONETARY SUPPORT for A HOCKEY PROGRAM. IN PRIOR SEASONS, THE DRS HOCKEY TEAM WAS ENTIRELY SELF-FUNDED. AS of THE 2024-2025 SEASON, MALE PLAYERS NOW CO-OP WITH SOMERSET-BERKELY REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL and GIRLS CO-OP WITH BISHOP STANG HIGH SCHOOL. NEITHER SCHOOL CONTRIBUTES FUNDS to PLAYERS FROM THE COMMUNITIES ABOVE. WITHOUT SUPPORT, PLAYERS FROM OUR COMMUNITIES WOULD FACE COSTS UP to TEN TIMES THOSE of ALL OTHER HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY PARTICIPANTS IN THE AREA. THE FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT WOULD BE THE REIMBURSEMENT of HOCKEY TUITION COSTS to THESE PLAYERS.
