ITS MISSION is ACHIEVED THROUGH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONSHIGH SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, and UNIVERSITIESAND THROUGH NONPROFIT or PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS ENGAGED IN THE DEVELOPMENT or UTILIZATION of SOCIOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE. THE MSS is DEDICATED to ASSISTING STUDENTS, TEACHERS, and PRACTITIONERS of SOCIOLOGY and to THE INSTITUTIONS SUPPORTING THEIR WORK; THAT IS, THE DISCOVERY of KNOWLEDGE, ITS DISSEMINATION, and THE APPLICATION of SOCIOLOGICAL FINDINGS. BECAUSE THE MSS is REGIONAL ITS MISSION is CARRIED OUT PRIMARILY WITHIN A NINE STATE AREA: ILLINOIS, IOWA, KANSAS, MINNESOTA, MISSOURI, NEBRASKA, NORTH DAKOTA, SOUTH DAKOTA, and WISCONSIN.
