THIS YEAR, WE ORGANIZED 11 COMMUNITY WORK PARTIES AT THE MALDEN COURT COMMUNITY ORCHARD and HELD 5 GARDEN SWAP EVENTS AT OUR TOOL LIBRARY, FACILITATING THE EXCHANGE of PLANTS and SEEDS AMONG NEIGHBORS. OUR TEAM CONTRIBUTED 171 VOLUNTEER HOURS to PROMOTE URBAN FORESTRYS YARD TREE GIVEAWAY. WE ALSO ESTABLISHED A 3,000 SQUARE FOOT POLLINATOR GARDEN WITH NINE STREET TREES and OVER 700 NATIVE PLANTS IN A FORMERLY VACANT TRAFFIC MEDIAN AT SE POWELL CT and 116TH AVE. A TOTAL of 4,086 TOOLS WERE LOANED THROUGH OUR TOOL LIBRARY. ADDITIONALLY, WE HOSTED THREE INTERNS and OFFERED 10 WORKSHOPS CONDUCTED IN SPANISH, COVERING EIGHT DIFFERENT TOPICS and PROVIDING 332 HOURS of EDUCATION and SKILL-SHARING to SPANISH-SPEAKING COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
