IT ALSO OVERSEES SPECIAL EVENTS HELD AT THE PAGODA, SUCH AS WEDDINGS, FAMILY PARTIES, COMMUNITY FUNDRAISERS, BUSINESS MEETINGS and ANNUAL EVENTS SUCH AS CHILDRENS DAY AT THE PAGODA, SUNSETS AT THE PAGODA and OUR NEW YEARS EVE OPEN HOUSE and FIREWORKS. THE PAGODA INTERIOR is CURRENTLY CLOSED for RENOVATION and REPAIR. NO CAFE SALES or GIFT SHOP SALES OCCURRED IN 2025 and THERE WERE NO EVENTS HELD INSIDE THE PAGODA. THE FOUNDATION for THE READING PAGODA CONTRIBUTED 60,000 to THE BERKS COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION IN 2025 to A FUND CALLED THE READING PAGODA RESTORATION FUND. THE PRESERVATION PART of THE MISSION is ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH COMMUNITY SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS, HISTORY BROCHURES and RE-ENACTMENTS, and A WEBSITE DEDICATED to THE PAGODA. GENERAL MAINTENANCE INCLUDES THE DAILY UPKEEP AS WELL AS ANY REPAIR

Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Worth asking: Expenses exceeded revenue this year. Ask whether that was planned or caused by a one-time event.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
