EXAMPLES of PROGRAMMING ARE: - PHCS MOBILE PANTRY is A COLLABORATION WITH GLEANERS COMMUNITY FOOD BANK and FORGOTTEN HARVEST. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES APPROXIMATELY 100 WORTH of GROCERIES to 600 FAMILIES MONTHLY and HAS BEEN A STAPLE of SUPPORT IN THE NORTHWEST DETROIT COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEERS FROM THE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS CORPORATE VOLUNTEERS HAVE HELPED to SUSTAIN THE PROGRAM THROUGH THE YEARS. - THE PE-NUT and LINKING LESSONS PROGRAMS, FUNDED THROUGH THE MICHIGAN FITNESS FOUNDATION, INCORPORATE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY and NUTRITIONAL EDUCATION INTO THEIR IN-CLASS INTERVENTIONS, ACTIVELY ENGAGING STUDENTS IN THEIR HEALTH OVER THE 5-8 WEEK-LONG PROGRAM.
