What they do

The Goal of The Breast Cancer Outreach Program is to Educate The Entire Community Predominantly Low-income Underserved African-Americans and Hispanics About The Importance of Early Detection and Risk Reduction Practices. This Grassroots Program Strives to Improve Access to Healthcare and Reduce Cancer Health Disparities By Providing The Community With Free Educational Resources Intake Referrals Transportation and Interventions. We Reach Women Where They Live Work Shop Socialize and Gather. In 2024 The Program Reached 614 Women In Underserved Neighborhoods Utilizing Our Certified Community Health Workers. 499 Were African-American and 108 Were Hispanic. We Performed 221 Mammogram Intakes 40 Cervical Screening Intakes and 9 Referrals for Healthcare Resources. The Three Major Interventions At 33 Locations Our Trained Volunteers Implemented Were: Pink Ribbon Sunday Church Collaborations Friend to Friend Housing Developments and Community Groups and Grassroots Outreach.
