What they do
PC READS ELEVATES LITERACY THROUGH EARLY IDENTIFICATION of NEURODIVERSE STUDENTS for WHOM READING is CHALLENGING and ADVOCATES for EFFECTIVE READING INTERVENTIONS and APPROPRIATE CLASSROOM ACCOMMODATIONS. WE PROVIDED RESOURCES and SUPPORT to FAMILIES WITH STUDENTS WHO ARE STRUGGLING to LEARN to READ, PARTICULARLY THOSE IDENTIFIED AS DYSLEXIC, THROUGH OUR ADVOCATE PROGRAM, MIND YOUTH PROGRAM and ELEVATING LITERACY PROGRAM. DURING THE 2024-2025 FISCAL YEAR, OUR ADVOCATE PROGRAM PROVIDED DIRECT SERVICES to 109 STUDENTS FROM 94 FAMILIES and COMPLETED 52 DYSLEXIA SCREENINGS. ADVOCATES ALSO PARTICIPATED IN OUTREACH EVENTS. OUR MIND YOUTH PROGRAM INCLUDED 16 MIND MENTORS WHO MET 6 TIMES DURING THE YEAR. WE HOSTED 4 MIND PROGRAMS, WITH PARTICIPATION RANGING FROM 20 to OVER 100 PARTICIPANTS. OUR ELEVATING LITERACY PROGRAM INCLUDED 2 COMMUNITY EVENTS (RAISING A READER, 42 PARTICIPANTS and GAINING A BETTER UNDERSTANDING of ADHD WITH DR. NED HALLOWELL, 275 ATTENDEES), A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PR
