THE THOMAS D. HORNE LEADERSHIP IN THE LAW PROGRAM ("LAW CAMP") is A SPECIAL ONE-WEEK PROGRAM to INTRODUCE THE LAW to RISING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS IN LOUDOUN COUNTY. IT is A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY for YOUNG PEOPLE to LEARN ABOUT THE LAW WHILE PREPARING A CASE for A JURY TRIAL and INSPIRING FUTURE ATTORNEYS IN THE PROCESS. THE STUDENTS SELECTED to PARTICIPATE IN LAW CAMP ARE EXPOSED to THE PRACTICE of LAW UNDER THE SUPERVISION of EXPERIENCED ATTORNEYS. PARTICIPANTS ALSO LEARN LEADERSHIP and TEAM-BUILDING SKILLS BY VIRTUE of THE INTERACTION WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS, JUDGES, ATTORNEYS and THEIR FELLOW LAW CAMP PARTICIPANTS. IN ITS TWO DECADES of EXISTENCE, THIS AWARD-WINNING PROGRAM HAS PROVIDED MORE THAN 250 STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY to EXPERIENCE BEING A LAWYER FIRST-HAND.
