Vision House Was Awarded A DC Oral History Collaborative Grant to Tell The Story of 10 Washingtonians Who Played Critical Roles In Advancing Civil Rights In The District of Columbia. As Board Members And/or Volunteer Attorneys, They Worked With The Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights (WLC) Over A Period of 50 Years. Founded In 1968, The WLC is A Leading Organization In The District of Columbia Providing Pro Bono Representation to Local Residents In A Broad Array of Civil Rights Matters Related to Race, Gender, National Origin, Disability, and Sexual Orientation Discrimination. It Has Also Worked Extensively to Advocate for Parents Seeking Quality Public Schools In The District of Columbia. Working In Conjunction With Major Law Firms Throughout The City, The Committee Has Assisted Thousands of Clients In Individual Cases and Law Reform Matters.
