THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION WAS FULFILLED AS IT WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY RAISE MONEY IN SUPPORT OF THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION SEABEE BALL. THE BALL INCLUDED OVER 500 SEABEES, PAST AND PRESENT, AND THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS. THE 2016 SEABEE BALL UPHELD THE TRADITION OF CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF THE SEABEES WHICH WERE ESTABLISHED ON MARCH 5TH, 1942. THE SEABEES ARE THE ARMED SERVICES PREMIER FIGHTING CONSTRUCTION FORCE HAVING BEEN INVOLVED IN EVERY MAJOR CONFLICT SINCE 1942. MOREOVER, THE SEABEES HAVE PLAYED AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN DISASTER RELIEF ACROSS THE GLOBE. IT IS IMPORTANT TO RECOGNIZE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE U.S. NAVY SEABEES AND THIS PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHED THAT SUCCESSFULLY.
