SAFE FAMILIES MISSION is to HOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN, CREATING AN "EXTENDED FAMILY" of VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE MOTIVATED to KEEP CHILDREN SAFE and FAMILIES TOGETHER. THIS PARTICULAR ROCKFORD CHAPTER HAS A CONTRACT WITH THE STATE of ILLINOIS for TEMPORARY RESPITE SERVICES for FAMILIES THAT NEED A LITTLE HELP WITHOUT HAVING to PUT THE CHILDREN INTO FOSTER CARE.
