The Entire Town of Port Washington, NY (with A Population of Over 16,000 Residents) Benefits From Having Access to A Clean Pond and Park. An Even Broader Population Benefits From Having Manhasset Bay Kept Clean, As It is A Direct Inlet to The Long Island Sound. Members of The Baxters Pond Foundation Have Volunteered to Serve As Stewards and Advocates for The Pond and Park - The Foundation Relies On Donations From The Community to Enable These Efforts. The Foundations Successful Advocacy With Nassau County Continues to Result In The Dredging of The Catchment Basin Leading Into The Pond, Removing Built-up Sedimentation and Debris That Flows From The Upper Roadways Into The Creek and Into The Catchment Basin. In The Past Year, Our Board Members and Other Volunteers Held Four Park Clean-ups to Remove Trash From The
