FATHERS ARE VIPS IS A PROGRAM FOR AT-RISK FATHERS LOCATED IN ORANGE COUNTY. IN THIS PROGRAM, WE ENDEAVOR TO STRENGTHEN THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE FATHER, CHILD, AND THE CHILDS MOTHER; SO AS TO PROMOTE HEALTHY GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CHILD IN A NURTURING ENVIRONMENT WITH POSITIVE EXPOSURE TO BOTH PARENTS. WE PROVIDE THE FATHERS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL SETS THROUGH COUNSELING, PARENTING EDUCATION, CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING, AS WELL AS LEGAL SUPPORT WHEN NEEDED TO ENSURE THEY HAVE THE TOOLS FOR A SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP ROLE. FATHERS ARE VIPS SAW OVER 400 FATHERS AND PROVIDED 1.200 PLUS SERVICE UNITS. THOSE SERVICE UNITS INCLUDED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING, PARENTING CLASSES, EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AND JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE. IN ADDITION, REFERRALS FOR LEGAL SERVICES AND HOUSING WERE DISTRIBUTED.
