What they do
Community Education and E Learning Empowers Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing With Opportunities to Present Their Info, Train Others, and Offer It In American Sign Language. This is Called The Empowerment Series. Many In Our Community Often Do Not Have The Space, Support or Training to Advance Their Skills. DE Provides This Support. In Addition, Provides The E Learning Topics and Education Free of Charge and Accessible In Their Language (ASL, Through Deaf Blind Interpreters) In Person or On Zoom. Topics Like Suicide Awareness and Prevention, Asian American Culture and Microaggressions, Budgeting, How to Present, Breast Cancer Awareness Are Offered Through Captions or Voice But Never In ASL. Through This We Also Offer Culture Immersion Experiences So People Can Increase Their Awareness Working With Diverse Members of Their Community, for Example.
