Neighborhood Organizing & Family Assistance: Supported Families With Counseling and Knowledge of Access to Resources . Maintained A Community Garden. This Involved 32 Gardeners, 63 Volunteers, Some Neighborhood Youth and Youth Works, Inc.; Sponsored Our Annual "One Night Out Against Crime." Over 150 Residents Came Out to Visit 26 Booths for Information and Referrals. Co-sponsored Monthly "Lunch and Learn" Events With Speakers On Topics of Interest to The Residents, Like Stages of Grief, Medicare and Medicaid Policies and Presentations By Local Police Officers On Crime Stats for Our Community. About 25-30 People Attended. In Collaboration With MDHA and Metro Action Commission, Provided 1,300 Lunches Thru The Summer Lunch Program.
