THE SCOPE of INTEREST INCLUDES ALL ASPECTS of THE HURRICANE THREAT WITH A PRIMARY EMPHASIS ON MEETING THE NEEDS of FIRST-LINE RESPONDERS IN EMERGENCY SERVICES, FIRE, and LAW ENFORCEMENT. to ACCOMPLISH THIS, THE CONFERENCE WILL ENSURE THE ANNUAL PROGRAM EMPHASISES THE FOLLOWING: LESSONS LEARNED FROM RESPONSE and RECOVERY FROM HURRICANE STRIKES IN FLORIDA AND, WHEN APPROPRIATE, OTHER COASTAL AREAS of THE UNITED STATES; STATE of THE ART PROGRAMS and STRATEGIES WORTHY of EMULATION; NEW IDEAS BEING TESTED or CONSIDERED; AWARENESS of NEW or ONGOING FEDERAL and PRIVATE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS AVAILABLE to LOCAL GOVERNMENT; EMERGENCY MANAGEMENTS ROLE and OTHER KEY AGENCY ROLES, IN HURRICANE PREPARDNESS, RECOVERY and MITIGATION.
