What they do

JustREAD is A Non-profit Literacy and Math Tutoring Program That Provides One-on-one Remedial Tutoring to Elementary Middle and High School Students Who Are Performing Below Grade Level. In March 2020 JustREAD Suspended Its In-person Tutoring Services When The Schools It Served Shifted to Remote Instruction Due to COVID-19. We Retained Key Staff On Payroll During This Period As We Waited to Be Able to Resume Operations.In March 2021 JustREADs Board of Directors Moved to Launch The Dissolution of The Organization As A Nonprofit Entity In Accordance With California Guidelines and The Organizations Articles of Incorporation. The Year-long COVID Closure of All The Schools We Served Made One-on-one Tutoring Virtually Impossible Especially With Younger Students. The Proposed Hybrid Models for School Reopening Also Do Not Support In-person Tutoring for The Foreseeable Future. More Generally The Needs of Our Target Schools Have Changed Making JustREADs Tutoring Model Less Viable.
