The McLennan County Dispute Resolution Center Provides Quality, Low-cost Mediations and Provides Space for Other Dispute Resolution Matters. During Fiscal Year 2025, 95 Cases Were Mediated Using Volunteer Mediators In Addition to Our Executive Director Who is A Mediator. The Majority of The Mediations Were Classified As Family Law and Child Protective Services Cases Which Require A Great Deal of Preparation As Well As Actual Mediation Hours. Many Referrals Were Made And/or Information Given When Mediation Was Not The Appropriate, Could Not Be Scheduled By Agreement of The Parties, or The Matter Was Outside Our Income Limits. The DRC Receives Many Inquiries From People Looking for Legal Assistance, Something That Mediators and The DRC Are Unable to Provide. We Refer These Callers to Several Other Agencies and Organizations. The DRC Provides Affordable, Quality Mediation In Civil and Family Law Cases to Qualifying Parties Who Might Not Otherwise Be Able to Afford Mediation.
