EACH YEAR THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS THE DENTON COUNTY YOUTH FAIR AT THE NORTH TEXAS STATE FAIR GROUNDS IN DENTON, TEXAS. THE PURPOSE of THE YOUTH FAIR is to PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY for FFA, FCCLA, and 4-H MEMBERS to EXHIBIT THEIR LIVESTOCK PROJECTS IN A FRIENDLY, FAIR COMPETITION, to EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT AGRICULTURE, to PROMOTE THE IMPROVEMENT of LIVESTOCK IN THE COMMUNITY, and to PROVIDE YOUTH THE OPPORTUNITY for TRAINING IN LEADERSHIP and SPORTSMANSHIP. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 700 YOUTH PARTICIPATING IN VARIOUS EVENTS INCLUDING MARKET LIVESTOCK, BREEDING LIVESTOCK, HOME ECONOMICS, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, AGRICULTURE MECHANICS, TRACTOR DRIVING, HORSE SHOW, RODEO, and PUBLIC SPEAKING.
