BRENTWOOD PARK INITIATIVE

EIN 80-0437247 · Fund Raising & Fund Distribution - Community Improvement (S12)

What they do

THE BRENTWOOD PARK INITIATIVE WAS ORGANIZED to SUPPORT THE BOROUGH of BRENTWOOD and THE BRENTWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT, WHICH ARE PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS SITUATED IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA. THE BOROUGH of BRENTWOOD HAS ENCOUNTERED INCREASING BUDGETARY CONSTRAINTS AS THE DEMAND for GOVERNMENT SERVICES INCREASES WHILE THE PUBLIC TAX BASE REMAINS STAGNANT or EVEN DECLINES. IN RECENT YEARS, THE BOROUGH HAS BEEN UNABLE to DEVOTE SUFFICIENT FUNDS to PROPERLY MAINTAIN and IMPOROVE ITS PARKS and RECREATIONAL FACILITIES, INCLUDING THE STADIUM UTILIZED BY THE BRENTWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT. TRADITIONALLY, THE STADIUM HAS SERVED AS THE MAIN VENUE for THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS ATHLETIC and RECREATIONAL EVENTS. DUE to INADEQUATE FUNDING, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS BEEN UNABLE to CONDUCT HOME TRACK MEETS IN THE STADIUM, THE GRASS FIELD and STADIUM SEATS NEED to BE REFURBISHED, and THE STADIUM is IN NEED of SIGNIFICANT UPGRADE IN ORDER to BE COMPARABLE to THE FACILITIES of OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS. SIMILARLY, THE BRENTWOOD

Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Ask these three easy questions

  1. Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
  2. What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
  3. Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.

Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.

Has the pattern changed?

Colored bars = expense mix: how each year’s expenses were divided. Total expenses vs. revenue shows whether the charity spent less or more than it received. The current filing is first.
