What they do

Promote Effective and Accountable Environmental Regulation to Protect Air Quality, The Human Health and Environment That Rely On It, and Reduce Environmental Injustice In Jefferson County and The Surrounding Area. We Monitor, Evaluate, Comment On, and When Indicated Challenge PSD and and Title V Air Permits Considered By WVDEP. In 2024 This Work Included But Was Not Limited to The Following Actions: Advocating for Improved PSD Permits and Monitoring for Title V Air Permits for A New Major Air Emission Source; Continued An Appeal of A PSD Permit With The Air Quality Board Including An Evidentiary Hearing; Worked With Citizens to Monitor Permitted Sites and When Indicated Filed Citizen Complaints to The WVDEP Requesting Inspections of Facilities; Published A Newsletter Informing The Public of Opportunities to Engage In The Permitting Process; Retained Experts to Evaluate Permit Applications, Disseminated This Information to The Public, and Submitted Technical Public Comment to The WVDEP.
