THE ORGANIZATION is FULLY RESPONSIBLE for ORGANIZING and MANAGING THE ANNUAL DE BACA COUNTY FAIR, WHICH SERVES AS A CENTRAL EVENT for COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, and PROMOTION of AGRICULTURE EDUCATION. IN ADDITION to FAIR OPERATIONS, THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTS IN THE MAINTENANCE and CARE of THE COUNTY-OWNED FAIRGROUNDS and COORDINATES FACILITY RENTALS. THE ORGANIZATION COLLECTS RENTAL FEES for USE of THE FAIRGROUNDS, REMITTING A PORTION to THE COUNTY and RETAINING A PORTION to SUPPORT ITS ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS and ONGOING WORK. WHILE THE ORGANIZATION DOES NOT ORGANIZE OTHER EVENTS, THE FAIRGROUNDS HOST A VARIETY of ANNUAL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING ROPINGS, BARREL RACES, RANCH RODEO, and HIGH SCHOOL RODEO, WHICH ARE ORGANIZED BY OTHER GROUPS. THROUGH THESE EFFORTS, THE ORGANIZATION ENHANCES COMMUNITY ACCESS to AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, and RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES.
