In 2023 Lumbercycle Had Many Activities That Furthered Its Mission of Promoting Sustainable Urban Forestry Through Education Workforce Training and Lumber Donations to Community Enrichment Programs. Educational Outreach: This Year Lumbercycle Hosted Multiple Community Sawmill Demonstrations for Different Youth Groups and Public Events Including A 6 Day Hands On Demonstration for Campers At Girl Scouts Camp Winacka An Earth Day Event for Oceanside High School and Field Trips At The Mill Yard for Escondido and San Pasqual High School Woodshop Students. 5 Students From Escondido High School Participated In Volunteer Events for 5 Consecutive Saturdays to Learn In Depth Information On Sustainable Milling and Drying Techniques. Workforce Development: In December Lumbercycle Was Asked to Give A 3 Day Training Course for The Staff At CALFIREs LA Moran Reforestation Center to Learn to Use Their New Woodmizer LT70 Sawmill Which Included One Classroom and Two Field Days Learning Milling
