IT CAN TAKE MONTHS of DEDICATED READING, VIEWING, LISTENING, and DISCUSSING BEFORE PEOPLE GET THE BASICS and APPLY THEM to THEIR OWN LIFE. THIS INEFFICIENT, INEFFECTIVE SYSTEM WAS LARGELY CREATED DUE to THE REQUIREMENT (OR PERCEIVED REQUIREMENT) THAT EDUCATORS MUST EXPLAIN SOPHISTICATED CONCEPTS IN GREAT DETAIL to AN UNINFORMED and LESS EDUCATED PUBLIC, USING A JARGON-FILLED TECHNICAL MANUAL WRITTEN BY PSYCHIATRISTS to AID CLINICIANS IN DIAGNOSING MENTAL ILLNESS, TREATING IT, and GETTING REIMBURSED for IT.
