What they do

Bear Canyon Farm Exists to Provide Employment and Hands On Learning Opportunities for Students At Mount Ellis Academy, and to Deliver Healthy, Fresh, Local Produce to The Community. Our Goal is to Equip Students With Practical Skills and Unique Agricultural Knowledge-preparing Them to Be Reliable, Responsible Employees and Volunteers In Their Communities and In The World. We Had High School Science Classes Come and Diagnose Crop Deficiencies. Also, Two Math Classes Came Out to Make Some Real Life Calculations for Structures. We Succeeded With Practical Application to High School Class Work By Providing These Opportunities. We Have Employed Three Students Outside of Class Time. Thirty Elementary Students Came Out to Learn About Onions and An Elementary Summer School Group Spent A Session Where We Showed Them A Little About Gardening Basics. In Addition to These Activities, We Provided Fresh Produce to The High School Cafeteria As Well As Student and Staff Families At Both The High Schoo
