Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief. We Served Nearly 16,000 Meals Over A 5 Day Period of Time. The Night Harvey Hit Port Aransas Dr. Ireland and I Loaded Up The Chevy Tahoe With 27 Cases of Water, 10 Gallons of Fuel, A Generator and A Chainsaw and Drove As Far Into The Strom As We Could - Which Was Matagorda County. We Delivered Aide and Supplies to The Matagorda County Sherrifs Office, Directly to The EOC. We Briefly Advised The EOC On The Status of The Roads and Supply Lines Between Houston and Matagorda County, Including Status of Power and Communications Systems Before Driving Back to Houston. Simultaneously, The Red Cross Refused to Cross Flooded Waters and Blerk Provided Aide Transport of Medical Supplies In and Out of Flooded Territory. Dr. Ireland Worked With EOC Officials At The Local and County Level to Establish Distaster Relief and Evacuation Strategies for Categorization of Shelter Customers - Expediting Citizens Return to Home or Advancing to Long Term Shelter Care.
