What they do

The Idaho City Historical Foundation is Trying to Capture and Preserve The Flavor of Life In The Bustling Mining Camps That Grew Up In A Few Short Months After Gold Was Discovered On Grimes Creek In August 1862, Revealing What It Was Like to Live In Boise Basin In The Years Between 1862 and 1890 When Idaho Became A State. We Do So Through Our Three Museums, All Housed In Historic Buildings Dating From The 1800s and Have Relied Heavily Upon Descriptions and Representations of Those People and Events. It is The Mission of The Foundation to Dedicate Itself to The Preservation, Restoration, and Interpretation of The Boise Basin of Idaho As An Historical Area for Present and Future Generations. The Foundation Will Develop Goals and Objectives That Further Its Mission and Will Strive to Focus All Activities of The Foundation On Achievement of These Goals and Objectives. We Also Maintain Four Other Historic Buildings for Occasional Viewing And, With The City of Idaho City, Restore and Maintain

Look at where the money went

Of every $100 spent, about $95.60 was reported for mission work. Use the spending picture below and ask what results that work produced.

Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Ask these three easy questions

  1. Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
  2. What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
  3. Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.

Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
