What they do

PFLK9 PULLS DOGS FROM CITY and COUNTY SHELTERS and PLACES THEM IN OUR PAWS for LIFE (PFL) CALIFORNIA STATE PRISON PROGRAM WITH OUR INCARCERATED TRAINERS WHO ARE ABLE to DEDICATE ALL of THEIR TIME to THEIR REHABILITATION. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS of LIVING and WORKING WITH OUR INMATE TRAINERS, OUR DOGS EARN THEIR AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN CERTIFICATION and ARE READY for ADOPTION and FAMILY LIFE. SOME PFL GRADUATES COMPLETE FURTHER TRAINING to BECOME SERVICE ANIMALS for MILITARY VETERANS SUFFERING FROM PTSD. THE PFL PROGRAM ENRICHES THE LIVES of THE INMATES and DOGS ALIKE. BY LOWERING EUTHANASIA RATES and PREPARING DOGS for SERVICE JOBS, PFL is PROVING THAT EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE.

Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Money made simple

Ask these three easy questions

  1. Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
  2. What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
  3. Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.

Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
