Heart Worm Initiative 2021 Continued - We Have Taken In Dogs With Heart Worm (parasites Infect The Heart) Which is A Medical Condition That Needs Immediate Care or The Animal Will Die. Other Rescues & Shelters Do Not Treat Heartworm As It is Very Costly & Rigorous Treatment. Buddys Started Puling Dogs From Shelters With Heartworm That No Other Organizations Would Take & Treating Them & Placing Them In Homes. We Proceeded to The Next Step of This Project to Assist With Low Income Homes That Had Heartworm Positive Dogs That Were Unable to Afford Trreatment, So We Handled The Treatment for These Families At No Cost to Them. We Also Would Provide Access to Vaccinations If They Needed and Couldnt Afford. We Serviced About 52 Dogs From Shelters & Streets In 2021 & 48 Low Income Families. Our Treatment is About 3 to 4 Months Long Until The Dog is Cured. The Cost of The Treatment Varies Dependent to The Dogs Condition But Ranges From $500-$2000 Per Dog.
