Accomplishments: Provided Information, Resources and Education to The Public Focusing On The 3 Pillars of Sustainability -local Foods, Smart Energy, Ecological and Cultural Resilience. E-news, Website and Social Media Platforms Targeted The 600full Time Island Residents, Up to 2000 Seasonal Residents, and Thousands of Visitors. The 8th Annual Beaver Island Sustainability Fair Drew Close to 300 People Who Attended Presentations About Solar Energy, Wave Energy Conversion, Geothermal Options, Energy Audits and Energy Efficiency, Healthy Habitats, and Island Cultural History and Presence. Most of This Work is Accomplished By A Core Group of About A Dozen Volunteers, With A Few Compensated Independent Contractors Who Coordinate The Efforts.
