WRITERS INC

What they do
to OFFER WRITING and PUBLISHING OPPORTUNITIES AT BEDSIDE-AND IN WORKSHOP SETTINGS-THROUGHOUT BOSTON CHILDRENS HOSPITAL. WE HOPE to FIND UNIQUE WAYS to SHOWCASE THE BOOKS THAT CHILDREN and CAREGIVERS HAVE ALREADY CREATED-AND to PROVIDE NOVEL WAYS for YOUNG AUTHORS to SHARE THEIR WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE. WE BELIEVE THAT THE ACT of STORYTELLING is A POWERFUL TOOL for PROCESSING and CREATIVE SELF-EXPRESSION, PARTICULARLY for THOSE COPING WITH ACUTE or CHRONIC ILLNESS. ONGOING WRITING and PUBLISHING OPPORTUNITIES CAN HELP HELP CHILDREN and FAMILIES to MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD, to EDUCATE OTHERS ABOUT A DIAGNOSIS, and to MAKE SENSE of CHALLENGING CIRCUMSTANCES.
