Program/Project Description (not to Exceed Two Paragraphs): Columbus Adult Education Center Serves More Than 1,500 Immigrants and Refugees Annually, With Locations In Salt Lake City, Herriman, and Ogden, Utah. These Campuses Teach A Variety of Free Classes, Including English Language, Legal Immigration Assistance (taught By Volunteers From The SJ. Quinney College of Law), Health, Music, Sewing, Preparedness, and Citizenship, Along With Providing Training On Such Topics As Getting Drivers Licenses, Dealing With Schools, Utah Road Safety Laws, Etc. Our Locations Are Used for Vision Clinics, Tax Clinics (run By The Westminster University VITA Program), Homeschooling Organizations, and Recreation, Such As Basketball and Dance Classes for The Ukrainian and South Sudanese Communities-all Geared to Help The Immigrants In Our Communities Feel Welcomed and to Help Them Assimilate Into American Society While Honoring The Legacy of Their Cultures and Traditions.
