CAJAL ACADEMYS MISSION is to EMPOWER CHILDREN to OPTIMIZE THEIR OWN LEARNING, SOCIAL and EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCES. WE DO THIS THROUGH THREE PRIMARY ACTIVITIES: 1. WE OPERATE A SMALL SPECIAL EDUCATION SCHOOL for CHILDREN HAVING VERY HIGH ANALYTICAL SKILLS, AS MEASURED VIA NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS, COUPLED WITH AN AREA of LEARNING, SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL, NEUROPHYSIOLOGICAL or CHRONIC MEDICAL DIFFERENCE; 2. WE ARE DEVELOPING NEW GENERAL and SPECIAL EDUCATION APPROACHES THAT BETTER ALIGN WITH CURRENT NEUROSCIENTIFIC RESEARCH and UNDERSTANDINGS ABOUT HOW CHILDREN LEARN, SOCIALIZE, DEVELOP and GROW; and 3. WE RAISE AWARENESS of THE NEEDS of TWICE EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN, CHILDREN WITH ATYPICAL NEUROLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT and OTHER COMPLEX LEARNERS.
