The Wool Festival is An Annual Event Produced By The Mountain and Valley Wool Association, Which Takes Place The First Weekend In October. The Event Takes Place In Santa Fe, New Mexico With Approximately 60 Fiber Vendors and Approximately 5 Food Vendor Booths. Workshops Are Held During The 2 to 3 Days Prior to The Wool Festival Weekend, In Locations In The Town of Santa Fe. Wool Festival Events Include Sheep Shearing Demonstrations, A Fiber Animal Exhibit, Fiber Art Demonstrations, Hands-on Projects for Children, Live Music, Competitions (described In More Detail Below) and A Silent Auction.Competitions Include The Wool/Fleece Competition and Show, The Yarn Competition and Show and The Garment and Home Accessories Contest. Wool Growers, Hand Spinners and Fiber Artisans Are Invited to Submit Their Products and Work for Judging and Exhibit.
