What they do

Swim Up Provides Free Water Safety and Swim Instruction to Students From Historically Underserved and Low-income Communities In Ward 8 of Washington, D.C. Swim Up Provides All Equipment, Transportation, and Lessons At No Cost or Burden to Families By Incorporating Our Program Into Two Independent, Tuition-free Schools That Serve Low-income Families. Swim Up Strives to Increase Equitable Access to Life-saving Swim Lessons to Children Who May Not Otherwise Have The Opportunity. Additionally, Swim Up Provides Information for Students On Different Aquatic Opportunities to Increase Diversity In Aquatic Sports, Engages With Professional Athletes In The Community, and Has Partnered With Community Members Such As The Howard University Swim and Dive Team and Diversity In Aquatics. Each Student Receives American Red Cross-approved and USA Swimming-approved Swim Instruction, Water Safety Instruction From Certified Potomac Valley Swim Coach Volunteers.
