What they do
ArtCade - In 2025 Our ArtCade Program Focused On Preserving Classic Games As They Were Originally Meant to Be Played. We Built Newly Designed Arcade Units Using Upcycled CRT Televisions In Partnership With Mecklenburg County Solid Waste and Recycling Along With Original Game Controllers and An Authentic Hardware Experience. This Initiative Served As A Blend of Historic Interactive Game Preservation and Community-focused Art for All Ages. We Introduced Four New Machines At Charlotte SHOUT! and Commissioned Twenty-one Artists for Upcoming Units. With The Help of Additional Grants We Began Building Additional Units to Be Placed In Public Spaces and Laid The Groundwork for A 2026 Training Program to Teach Carpentry and Electrical Skills Through Arcade Building. We Also Started Developing Complementary Art Pieces to Enhance The Presentation of Our ArtCade Installations.
